A recent survey by the Association of National Advertisers showed that 90 percent of US marketers are now using social networks for their efforts. Just five years ago, the figure was only 20 percent. That is not just an unbelievable growth trend for social media usage – it is a seismic shift in marketing and business. Social media has rapidly evolved from largely being on the fringe of marketing and communications to quite literally functioning right at the core.
Social media marketing (SMM) is the emerging business function that uses social channels and networks to engage consumers and customers.
