The Ontario Curriculum,Grades 9 and 10: Social Sciences and the Humanities,1999 will be imple- mented in Ontario secondary schools starting in September 1999 for students in Grade 9 and in September 2000 for students in Grade 10.This document replaces the sections in The Common Curriculum: Policies and Outcomes,Grades 1–9,1995 that relate to subjects in social sci- ences and the humanities in Grade 9,and to the parts of the curriculum guideline Family Studies,Intermediate and Senior Divisions and OAC,1987 that relate to Grade 10.
This document is designed for use in conjunction with its companion piece,The Ontario Curriculum,Grades 9 and 10: Program Planning and Assessment,1999,which contains information relevant to all disciplines represented in the curriculum.The planning and assessment docu- ment is available both in print and on the ministry’s website,at http://www.edu.gov.on.ca
