DEVELOPMENT AND GLOBAL GOVERNANCE
On May 2, 1995, a group of 30 experts met in Ottawa to discuss the interrelationships between development and the
governance of the international economy. They came from all parts of the world Mexico, India, the United States,
the United Kingdom, Sweden, Denmark, Uganda, Pakistan, Chile, Indonesia, and, of course, Canada. The group
comprised researchers, academics, and members of non-government organizations. Officials from departments of the
Canadian federal government, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and the United Nations also
participated. A complete list of participants and their institutional affiliations is included in this volume.
