Cognitive science can be roughly summed up as the scientific interdisciplinary study of the mind. Its primary methodology is the scientific method, although as we will see, many other methodologies also contribute. A hallmark of cognitive science is its interdisciplinary approach. It results from the efforts of researchers working in a wide array of fields. These include philosophy, psychology, linguistics, artificial intelligence, robotics, and neuroscience. Each field brings with it a unique set of tools and perspectives.
