effects also education in conflict- and post-conflict conditions. With the
formulation of a comprehensive strategy to guide UNESCO’s work in
textbook development and revision in 2005, it has become UNESCO’s
role “to assist member states in developing policies, norms, and standards
for the provision of textbooks and other learning materials which
facilitate quality education”. In this context, quality education for all is
being regarded as a means to contribute to stabilising conflict-shattered
societies
